The European  Confederation of Youth Clubs  in cooperation with Youth Express Network (Y-E-N) is organising the study session Youth Work for All: Defining Social inclusion from policy to reality. 

 

The activity will take place at the Budapest Youth Center of the Council of Europe, from  the 3rd to the 7th of July (working days). 

 

The main aim of the study session is to define what does social inclusion mean in a youth work context and how to advocate for social inclusion of young people in situations of poverty, experiencing discrimination or living in disadvantaged neighborhoods. The activity will strengthen the links between local youth workers and youth organisations aiming to advance further the European youth work agenda in the promotion of youth work for all.

The activity will last for 5 days – from Monday until Friday (arrivals of the participants on Sunday, departure the following Saturday). All costs are covered by the European Youth Center and ECYC /. Y-E_N. 

Some of the key sessions include:

• Defining youth work and examples of youth work: In this session we aim to explore the realities and practices in defining youth work, and understand better the Recommendation on Youth Work

• Exchange on the European Youth Work Agenda: This session was proposed by ECYC to serve as a space for updates on the developments in the implementation of the Agenda, the role of the EU and the CoE as well as, any other relevant opportunities for cooperation

• Social Inclusion in youth work: This session aims to address the issues and questions around defining social inclusion in youth work, experiences and approaches and the provision of knowledge on this topic.

• Introduction to Enter! Recommendation and the potential to engage in advocating for its implementation

• Advocacy sessions aiming to guide the participants to develop advocacy actions, as well as, provide space for reflection, feedback and co-working on advocacy issues.

 

We are looking mainly for young people who are engaging in advocacy and actively follow the youth work policies on national level, as well as, young people who are interested in the European youth work agenda. Furthermore, the participants will be prioritized in the selection process based on these criteria as well:

• Motivation to further develop their professional and personal competences for quality youth work

• Intend to remain active and apply their learning in their organisation/institution for the next year

• Aged between 18 and 30 years, with exceptions possible / Coming from CoE member states and Belarus

• Supported by their organisation for the follow-up actions.
